Karmic Koala

I just finished upgrading to Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, the latest version of the popular Linux distro. It’s an excellent operating system and serves as an excellent example of the power and potential of FOSS. It’s incredible how far Ubuntu has come, and it should be interesting to see where it’s headed.

I've caught the Wave!

Earlier today, I finally received a Google Wave invite in my inbox. I’m already busy exploring the service and putting it through its paces.Much love to everyone who nominated me, specially Dav Glass and Ate Aileen Apolo.

P.S. I’m sorry I can’t give out any invites—I’ve already promised people I’d nominate them.

Will Blog for Wave

What follows is a shameless plea for a digital invite.

***

Dear good-natured Posterous peeps, Not too long ago, Google released their latest product, Google Wave, to 100,000 lucky users. Google concurrently gave these users the power to invite others into the exclusive beta program.

Posterous posters are quite the tech-savvy bunch and I’d be surprised if the majority of you aren’t already on Wave. In light of that fact, may I respectfully request you to nominate my email address, http://scr.im/dlozarie , for admission into Google Wave? Your assistance would be most appreciated. Danke.

Respectfully,
Dean

Life-changing experience

Today I met the physician who attended to my mother when she gave birth to me.

She signed my medical certificate for this weekend’s RCY Camp.

It’s a life-changing experience in a funny sort of way. I’m kinda sad I only realized the fact after we’d left her clinic, but I’m sure this isn’t going to be the last time I’ll need a medical certificate signed, so the next chance I get, Imma go back to her and pay her exorbitant Php150 fee just so I can tell her, “Doctor, on a cold October night nearly 15 years ago, you helped my mother give birth to me. Check me out now.”
